A Very Hobby Valentine’s Day

happy Valentine's Day | the hobby room diaries

I am a big fan of Valentine’s Day and you can tell by the number of posts I’ve done that are Valentine-related compared to all other holiday posts.  Something about the hearts and the red and pink makes me smile.  I thought I would re-share with you some posts I did last year to get you into a Valentine-y sort of mood.  Here goes . . .

These are some chocolate cupcakes with red hots icing.  Mm-hmm, red hots added to marshmallow-y boiled icing.  Delicious.  AND the cupcakes are the homemade chocolate variety.  From Alton Brown.  Double delicious.

When I was a kid, my grandma (the creative one) mailed fun Valentine’s Day cards just like these and it was exciting to see each year what she would enclose in each pocket.  Get yourself some clear vinyl and candy and stickers and you too can sew your own (mailable!) clear Valentine’s Day cards.

Who loves ya, baby?  God does.  No matter what.  Without a doubt.  No exceptions.  You can print your own copy of this reminder and pop it in a frame and voila! instant inspirational art.

And while you’re at it, print this one too.  More Valentine’s Day art to go in that spare frame you have laying around.  I love this song from Etta James (At Last) and it always reminds me of dating my husband.  I doubt it will remind you of dating my husband, but it’s still pretty romantic all the same.

XOXO,

Jody
